Rapid Building Solutions is a trusted leader in the design and construction of commercial and self-storage facilities throughout Florida and the Southeast. We are seeking an experienced and detail-driven Commercial Construction Estimator to join our growing preconstruction team.
In this role, you will work closely with Project Managers, Drafters, and subcontractors to prepare accurate, competitive cost estimates for commercial construction projects. The ideal candidate brings strong analytical skills, a solid understanding of construction methods, and the ability to manage multiple estimates while meeting deadlines.

What You’ll Do
- Analyze architectural drawings, specifications, and project documentation to develop detailed cost estimates.
- Prepare conceptual, design-development, and hard-bid estimates for commercial construction projects.
- Perform quantity takeoffs and develop comprehensive cost breakdowns.
- Solicit, review, and evaluate bids from subcontractors and suppliers to ensure scope completeness and competitive pricing.
- Collaborate with Project Managers, Drafters, architects, and engineers during the preconstruction phase.
- Conduct site visits as needed to assess project scope, logistics, and cost drivers.
- Assist with value engineering efforts to identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.
- Prepare bid proposals, estimate summaries, and supporting documentation.
- Participate in bid reviews, scope clarification meetings, and client discussions as needed.
- Maintain estimating databases, historical cost data, and unit pricing.
- Track market conditions, labor trends, and material pricing to support accurate forecasting.
What You Bring to the Team
- Minimum 3 years of experience in commercial construction estimating.
- Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and applicable building codes.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and technical documents.
- Proficiency with construction estimating software and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple estimates and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Clear, professional communication skills for internal and external collaboration.
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field is preferred, but relevant experience will be considered.
- Familiarity with the Florida subcontractor and supplier market is a plus.
