We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Permit Coordinator to support our commercial architectural team. The Permit Coordinator will be responsible for managing the entire permitting process for commercial construction projects—from application to approval. This role plays a critical part in ensuring that all necessary approvals are obtained in a timely manner to meet project deadlines and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities:- Research permitting requirements for each project.
- Coordinate and submit permit applications for commercial construction projects across multiple jurisdictions, ensuring all necessary documentation is included.
- Track and manage the status of permit submissions, updates, and renewals.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of permit applications, approvals, and conditions.
- Communicate and follow up with municipalities, building departments, and other regulatory agencies.
- Work closely with architects, engineers, consultants, and project managers to gather required documentation and drawings for submittals.
- Resolve permitting issues or delays by proactively identifying problems and working with relevant parties to address them.
- Maintain a comprehensive permit log and provide weekly updates to the project team.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree in construction management, Architecture, or related field preferred.
- 3+ years of experience in permit coordination, preferably within commercial architecture or construction.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook); experience with project management software a plus.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Experience working with multiple municipalities or states.
- Knowledge of architectural and construction documents.
- Ability to read and interpret site plans, floor plans, and engineering drawings.
